On 10 July 2025, French contemporary artist David David unveiled his monumental sculpture Result on the Allées Jules-Guesde in Toulouse, directly facing the city’s renowned Museum of Natural History. Acquired by the city of Toulouse, this striking public artwork reflects on our collective dependence on smartphones and screens. A succession of figures, each with a bucket covering their head, are frozen in postures absorbed by their mobile phones — a powerful and unsettling metaphor for modern life.
Result challenges passers-by to confront the paradox of hyperconnectivity: constant digital interaction that often leads to social isolation. Through this creation, David David highlights the tension between the omnipresent use of technology and the disconnection from reality it can cause.
The city of Toulouse, under the leadership of its mayor and municipal team, has chosen to reinforce its commitment to contemporary art in public spaces by welcoming this sculpture. The installation required the expertise of a dedicated technical team, whose professionalism and devotion the artist warmly acknowledges.
This installation marks a major new milestone in David David’s career, underscoring his unique ability to translate today’s most pressing questions into powerful forms and symbols.
