Seek – Monumental Sculpture by David David at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport

Amid hurried travellers rushing not to miss their next flight, some pause, take photos, and reflect. That is precisely what French artist David David had in mind. Since 12 July 2024, his monumental sculpture Seek has stood proudly at the entrance of Terminal 2 at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport.

An invitation to reflect

Seek is a striking 4.5-metre fibreglass sculpture representing a man with binoculars and a bucket on his head. From a distance, it intrigues passers-by. Though blinded to the world around him, he nevertheless attempts to see further.

David David leaves the interpretation open, never revealing the deeply personal message behind the work.

“I enjoy exploring today’s society. My aim is not to create something beautiful, but to spark reflection and interpretation.”

A new landmark for travellers

With its impressive scale and distinctive binoculars, the sculpture quickly establishes itself as a new meeting point at the airport. Its strategic position at Terminal 2 makes it an unmissable landmark for anyone passing through — or getting lost — at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport.
